EVIL SPIRIT's "The Imageless Mirror" was released in a 300 limited edition in 2018 and covers a wide range of influences. Deemed doom metal, it truly exceeds the genre from the get-go, with its prog-infused and neo-folk leanings, through gothic demeanour and meditative yearning, constantly shifting yet never repeating itself. A triumph of self-identity over genre constrains, for a band that was defiant of any conventions. Last copies including a fulminant Death SS rendition.

ÆTERNUM SACRO's "Cielos prometidos, cielos clandestinos" is yet another tour de force. Black metal unorthodoxy at its finest. Meticulously played, produced and recorded, full of finesse and aggression in equal measure. A testament for a music genre that has become stalled when its forerunners used to experiment to lay down its foundations.

GODS OF RAIN's "Offerings" is a duo of electric guitar and drums/vocals, yet you'd be pushed to grasp the sonorities and partly lethargic atmospheres those recordings evoke. Leaning towards dark ambient territory, yet in the terrain of free-improvised music, as much LAFMS-infused, as it is european in a FMP fashion. Yet all the aforementioned and none of it, for its cinematic qualities and filigrane collapse to bursts of fire-eating fury. Another standalone in its style, as is the case on each EXIT release so far.

MARCELO AGUIRRE's "Contes d'Ètonnement" is an album of oblique songwriting strategies. Between sound experimentation and rhythmic forcefulness, it takes drums and vocals at the forefront of otherwise hard to pinpoint post-apocalyptic hymns and atmospheres. Unruly in its non-linearity and complex in execution, its aim being an ideal where all is possible yet not everything accepted, a selective picking on emotions that are part of its own universe. Released in a 150 run on vinyl only, and running on its last copies.
